Resumo: This academic work seeks to emphasize the relevance of play in early childhood education, where the first contact with other children and teachers occurs. The present work aims to conceptualize and punctuate the importance of the ludic in learning. The study was developed through bibliographic research, through the reading of books related to the subject in question. Play, play and games are resources that enable the development of social and cultural relationships, developing the child’s creativity and sociability, with new pedagogical practices and methodologies within the school space that have facilitated interaction among students. Games in early childhood education are offered as strategic resources, providing knowledge and learning from different aspects, such as: obedience, respect and competition, where they learn to win, lose and deal with their frustrations. Teacher training is of great relevance to early childhood education, requiring skills that provide skills in teaching procedures and strategies. To work in early childhood education, it is important to teach effectively, using dialogue and affection, since both play the role of harmony in education.
