Resumo: The present inquiry presents an analysis on the teaching of reading in the first cycle of the basic teaching. The reading must be a significant process of apprenticeship that makes possible to the child the construction and development of the knowledge. While boarding the teaching of reading, It was considered its importance. For so much, there was the need of theoretical foundations in some authors, whose studies are relevant to the subject open to question. The public contributory to accomplishment such job, were the students and teacher of Second year initial sprees of elementary teaching hall school Doutor Germano Norberto Rudner and also, the students and teacher of Second year initial sprees of elementary teaching hall school Rui Barbosa. Disposing of the practices of supervised traineeship of the 3rd year of pedagogy, It was used the methodologies of field work for a quantitative and qualitative approach through observations in classroom. The questionnaires directed to the teachers had since objective gathered informations referring to his conceptions, interventions and pedagogic practices for the teaching of reading. Therefore, It aimed to find also possible traces that could contribute to the understanding what concerns pupils who keep on presenting, in the next series of the basic teaching, difficulties in the reading and in the writing.
