For so much, there was the need of theoretical foundations in some authors, whose studies are relevant to the subject open to question. The public contributory to accomplishment such job, were the students and teacher of Second year initial sprees of elementary teaching hall school Doutor Germano Norberto Rudner and also, the students and teacher of Second year initial sprees of elementary teaching hall school Rui Barbosa. Disposing of the practices of supervised traineeship of the 3rd year of pedagogy, It was used the methodologies of field work for a quantitative and qualitative approach through observations in classroom. The questionnaires directed to the teachers had since objective gathered informations referring to his conceptions, interventions and pedagogic practices for the teaching of reading. Therefore, It aimed to find also possible traces that could contribute to the understanding what concerns pupils who keep on presenting, in the next series of the basic teaching, difficulties in the reading and in the writing. A presente pesquisa apresenta uma análise sobre o ensino de leitura no primeiro ciclo do ensino fundamental. A leitura deve ser um processo de aprendizagem significativo que possibilite à criança a construção e desenvolvimento do conhecimento. Ao abordar o ensino de leitura, considerou-se sua importância. Para tanto, houve a necessidade de embasamentos teóricos em alguns autores, cujos estudos são pertinentes ao assunto em questão. O público contribuinte para a realização desse trabalho foram os alunos e a professora do 2º ano das séries iniciais do ensino fundamental da Escola Municipal Doutor Germano Norberto Rudner e os alunos e a professora do 2º ano das séries iniciais do ensino fundamental da Escola Municipal Rui Barbosa. Contando com as práticas de estágio supervisionado do 3º ano de pedagogia, utilizou-se as metodologias de pesquisa de campo para uma abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa por meio de observações em sala de aula. Os questionários direcionados às professoras tiveram por objetivo colher informações referentes às suas concepções, intervenções e práticas pedagógicas para o ensino de leitura.
