Resumo: If art adult translates your feelings, your emotions, your relationship with the world and with their peers, the art manifested by child has this same feature, because it denotes the form of the child to see and experience your child's world in relation with the wider world in which it operates. Thus, this work was based on a literature survey having as theme, understanding the historical and cultural development of the discipline of art, seeking to understand the work involved in art at school, involving social relations, modes of production, the assumptions philosophical, in short, all the cultural reality in which artistic expression is inserted. The objective of this research was to investigate what is the role of art in the development of creativity of students on the content covered in class. The research was organized initially addressing, with the concept of what is art, discussing the issue of the act of teaching together with the role of the teacher and reflecting on assessment and learning in the discipline of art.
