This work had as thematic the importance of reading in the elementary school, aiming to show how the school has to work the reading inside and outside the classroom and the ways to use it. Reading is essential to human learning, because it is through this tool we can enrich our vocabulary, achieve knowledge, improve the reasoning and the interpretation. While reading we are allowed to discover an entire new world, full of unknown things. The reading habit must be encouraged during childhood; this way the person is able to learn, since young ages, that reading is something important and pleasurable. The reading activity does not correspond to a simple symbol decoding, but it means, in fact, construing and comprehending what is being read. |
