This work aimed to elicit thematic reflections on Linguistic Variation and the prejudice and discrimination faced by students who use different linguistic varieties as the established standard, recognizing its importance in the Portuguese language. Taking into account that the Linguistic Variation is a rather complex issue because it involves issues of identity, stigma, discrimination, prejudice, rule, social prestige and many others. That when these issues are not addressed properly, instead of promoting awareness and the advancement of citizenship, may generate prejudice and constraints. But the school, in general, has not taken into account the linguistic variations of their students, this work aims to show that there is no single model language, and that these variations must be respected and valued integrating them to the content. |
