Resumo: Environmental education has been a widely debated subject today. Its purpose is to give a new meaning in the relationship of human beings with nature, trying to modify behaviors that lead to degrade the environment. His study should start within schools. The school, however, is the need to develop it beyond the transversality, an environmental link, in order to effectively leverage the teaching of environmental education. Thus, the main objective of this monograph was present ways of how to work the environmental education in elementary school. The methodology employed in this study was prevalent exploratory descriptive. The tools adopted for data collection were the bibliographical research and documentary. The results of the study point out that the study of environmental education tends to favor the progress of mankind, unraveled the natural laws governing the environment.
