Thus, the objective of this work was to improve the school environment for children who did not have contact with the children's stories, and studying the reaction of those listening to the story telling by the teacher and the first results of this practice in the classroom, through analysis of the immediate effects of two different methods of telling children's stories to students in the 4th grade of elementary school in a public school of education. The stories with the help of the technique that makes use of environment decorated and characterization of the characters participating in the plot, and also the technique of clothesline were counted. Both techniques were successful, but the first is more efficient, since all students were able to report at the end of practice the title, name of the characters and plot of stories. Regardless of the technique used the benefits were many and met the expectations of the researcher.
