Thus, the objective of this work was to improve the school environment for children who did not have contact with the children's stories, and studying the reaction of those listening to the story telling by the teacher and the first results of this practice in the classroom, through analysis of the immediate effects of two different methods of telling children's stories to students in the 4th grade of elementary school in a public school of education. The stories with the help of the technique that makes use of environment decorated and characterization of the characters participating in the plot, and also the technique of clothesline were counted. Both techniques were successful, but the first is more efficient, since all students were able to report at the end of practice the title, name of the characters and plot of stories. Regardless of the technique used the benefits were many and met the expectations of the researcher. Ao contar uma história através da oralidade acontece a interação entre o contador e seus ouvintes, que permite o aprimoramento do processo de ensino e aprendizagem da criança. Desta forma, o objetivo deste trabalho consistiu em aperfeiçoar a realidade escolar de crianças que não possuíam contato com as histórias infantis, e estudar a reação destas ao ouvir a contação de histórias pelo professor e os primeiros resultados desta prática em sala de aula, através da análise dos efeitos imediatos de dois diferentes métodos de contar histórias infantis aos alunos do 4º ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola da rede pública de Ensino. Foram contadas as histórias com o auxilio da técnica que faz uso de ambiente decorado e caracterização dos personagens participantes do enredo, e também da técnica do varal. As duas técnicas obtiveram sucesso, porém a primeira se mostrou mais eficiente, visto que todos os alunos souberam relatar no final da prática o título, nome dos personagens e enredo das histórias contadas.
