Resumo: Geography represents an area of knowledge that aims to make the world more comprehensible to those who study it, being students, researchers, teachers, etc. Geography is also a science that provides society with a vision of man-nature relations as space, its transformations to benefit itself and others, possessing several essential definitions to achieve this goal. At present, the teaching of Geography is going through a remarkable period, in a phase of redefinitions demanded by society in general and by the process of globalization, by the creation of a new school system that allows the formation of full citizens. As future educators, it must be said that it is necessary to prepare our learner; the teaching of Geography must have a perspective committed to citizenship, preparing the learner for life and surpassing the concept of reproducing concepts or being able to perform their activities in the market of job. Due to the vital attribution that the textbook possesses, being one of the most important used by teachers in the teaching of Geography with its students, this instrument became able to influence the formation and knowledge of the subjects. This monograph aims to understand some of the relationships that permeate the teaching of Physical Geography and the questions of the use of textbooks to reach this requirement.
