Resumo: This work had as its theme the teaching methodology of Astronomy in Basic Education – Phase I of Elementary School. From the theoretical classes on the universe, we tried to place the students in front of play and visual activities in order to have a better understanding of the planetary system to which we belong and of the Universe as a whole. It is known that Astronomy is a very complex scientific area, and for that reason it can proportional to great curiosity. At school, Astronomy can be explored as a motivating tool and endowed with concepts that make it possible to be interconnected in different branches of science, such as Physics, Mathematics and Geography, for example. The research had as a starting point a bibliographical study of several authors in order to base the proposal of a methodology of teaching to work the Content of Astronomy with students of the 4th year of Elementary School in a Municipal School in the city of Medianeira / PR. The methods used are diverse, including textbook, computer simulator, posters, tape measure, film and domino game, with the participation of students in the Brazilian Astronomy Olympiad. As one of the relevant results of this study was a differentiated methodology focused on the interests of students, with the purpose of promoting playfulness and involving them in stimulating works, in which activities are produced that allow their learning.
