The objective of this study is to see how aspects of transformational and transactional leadership is perceived by the leader and the led in a public institution. The method includes a case study, and the Contraturno Educational Partner, the aim of the research institution. The research is classified as exploratory and applied research on the means to it is bibliographical and field. The data of the respective study were obtained through structured questionnaire. For data analysis we used the content analysis technique. Field findings show that acts leading both transformational transactional way, and the five components of the present transformational dimension is shown. Regarding transactional dimension leader acts for managing by exception active, that is, its management is facing irregularities in the process and may even punish employees for their failures. Overall leader is efficient and meets the needs of the led, always seeking to motivate them, even though they lack the conditions for use to reward contingent. Internalize and practice the transformational aspects is essential for every leader. In this sense, to the active leader in public, focus of this study, it is even more interesting to know this leadership model: although present elements of the bureaucracy that prevents you from acting with complete freedom, transformational leadership can contribute to more effective management. |
