Resumo: Information and communication technologies have promoted and stimulated various transformations in various spheres of social life. One of the spaces in which these changes can be observed with greater intensity are the social networks. Today, Facebook has become one of the most used social networks in the world and therefore can be considered a profitable place for the study of Astronomy in the present time. The focus of the work was to awaken in the educators the interest in using the usual technologies among the young, as a tool for academic teaching. The methodology used was the bibliographic research and the case study. Therefore, the study demonstrated in the 49 posts the interactivity of those interested in Astronomy via Facebook and encouraged and stimulated the use of new technologies in the teaching-learning process. The creation of a Facebook page, presented as a way to unite two distinct areas of information technology and Astronomy. It is an important tool that can help teachers prepare lessons using the resources available in the posts and encourage their students in the research.
