Resumo: Through an investigative field research and a questionnaire was conducted the research on the importance of healthy eating in childhood by having parents as examples and encouraging children from an early age learn to eat well and healthy, as they follow what they see at home and when parents encourage children to adapt easier and avoid future problems like obesity and health problems. Children need special attention because they are in a period of discovery and development so by encouraging them to healthy habits in childhood we are preparing for a healthy adulthood, since this period of discovery and acceptance of children would remain in adulthood, therefore a child which has examples and incentives not only from the school, but also from parents it has become a healthy and malleable adult to accept healthier products as the rush of today provides us with the ease of the industrialized and ready. Children stay long at CMEI with this the main meals are held there with the follow-up of a nutritionist. Through the questionnaire it was observed that 71.79% of the parents are also encouraging their children to have a healthier life, 89.74% talk about the importance of healthy eating, 77.56% of the children accept the food they are offered , 80.14% like fruits and 61.54% like vegetables, the acceptance is observed in the CMEI when it serves the salad and fruits that are well accepted by them with this work we observed that when encouraged since baby to eat everything a child he does not refuse any food we offer him. According to Paschoa (2005), learning should be informal and natural. So what needs to be clear is that nutritional education is not just done in the room.
