Resumo: The Forest Ring of the Camaçari Industrial Pole is an area, located along and around the Camaçari Industrial Complex in 1978, consisting of native and exotic vegetation, also known as green belt, with the main function to keep a safe distance between urban and industrial community. The objective of this research was to analyze the level of knowledge of neighboring communities to the Forest Ring, seeking information available to the wider community, through a literature review and through interviews with 30 residents, of each neighborhood, of 4 districts of Camaçari city, being them Parque Floresta, Mangueiral, Parque Satélite and Cristo Redentor. The results indicated that there is little information available to be shared by the community, whether in the agencies responsible for management of the area of the Ring, either in digital media, on issues and academic papers. Additionally, it was found that some information available are not true. The field research showed that the interviewed majority knows the Forest Ring, but few know more information about deployment, function, management and protection actions in the ring, such as the implantation year, size, responsible organ, and conservation practices, that take place regularly.
