Resumo: Environmental education is a matter of fundamental importance for all segments of society. Therefore, it is necessary to include environmental education in the school context, whose aim is to promote people's awareness of the preservation of natural resources. According to the National Curriculum parameters (PCN) The theme of the environment is a transversal theme and should be addressed by all the disciplines of the school curriculum in an interdisciplinary way. The aim of this work was to investigate how the teachers address the themes related to the environment in their pedagogical practice. With all this, this study aimed to verify that the educational political project of the college presents actions aimed at environmental education. To raise the reasons that hinder an interdisciplinary and contextualized practice, in relation to the theme of the environment. A questionnaire was applied with the teachers of the various ones that comprise the school curriculum containing ten questions. The answers to the questionnaires were analyzed in a quantitative and qualitative way. The majority of teachers present knowledge of what is to be environmental education, but there are some barriers that hinder the development of the thematic. The minority of teachers knows the pedagogical political project and informs that it presents actions focused on pedagogical practice with an emphasis on environmental education. Most conceptualized environmental education properly and the others do not understand the theme. Most understand the meaning of interdisciplinarity and perceive the relationship of their discipline with environmental education. Most of them carry out environmental education projects. The smallest part states that environmental education should be developed in a transversal, interdisciplinary way and not as a discipline.
