This work had as its theme the environmental licensing of a city. The environmental licensing is actually present in discussions of sustainability, with agreat tool to be used by government agencies for environmental management. It is performed in three steps - Preliminary Licenses, Installation and operation - and its function is to regulate potentially polluting activities of the environment. It is an administrative procedure performing at the city, state or federal levels, as the size, scope or impact of the project. This study aimed to demonstrate the importance of completing the environmental licensing at the level of competence of this city, with emphasis in the city of Erechim / RS, reporting history of environmental licensing and the relevant legislation, showing the trajectory of the environmental licensing in Erechim / RS and the quantity of emmited licenses in the city in a given period. For this study, reflections / discussions are presented on literature searches, using study material already available on the subject, as well as the relevant legislation. Moreover, it was obtained from the Board of Environment of the city of Erechim / RS, data for the quantitative environmental licenses released annually by the city. Information was requested and obtained by the Environmental Licensing Board, and the data are annual, covering the years 2009 to 2014. Amount 1928 Environmental Licenses were emmited from 2009 to 2014, demonstrating the importance of his achievement at this city level and relevance of the environmental license for the maintenance of preservation of the environment and how environmental management tool. |
