Besides the present concern about the environment, there is a daily discard of oils, from animal or vegetal origin, which derive from fry food, at residences and business buildings, directly to the sewage system, on the ground or even on the trash. As a result, several problems are generated, such as obstructions of
pipes, soil sealing, and raising value of sewage system treatment among others. The aim of this work is to check the ways of discarding the frying oil used by the population from many sectors of Matelândia, through the application of a questionnaire aiming to establish the respondents’ perception in relation to the consequences and reutilization of this oil. In addition to being a discussed subject at schools, universities and by the media, not all of those interviewed knew about the right way of discarding and its damaging effects to
the environment. However, the respondents reported the homemade soap preparation as a form of reusing this oil. After the interview, leaflets were delivered to the interviewees with information about the damage the wrong disposal of frying oil may cause to the environment, besides the benefits the same oil can bring if used correctly. |
