The increasing use of natural resources without proper planning can cause impacts to the natural environment and quality of life of society, thus requiring studies to understand these processes and the adoption of mitigation measures to minimize them. For this reason, the various forms of use, occupation and management of water resources, coupled with the fragility of the natural environment, without their prior knowledge, can generate numerous environmental hazards, and these, in this proposal, the probability of compromising the quality of these resources. In this context, this research was conducted, seeking to raise through a literature review the environmental perception of different populations and their degree of interest in participating in actions to improve the environmental quality of their surroundings and participatory management of water resources. Thus, this study aimed to characterize some definitions of awareness and environmental education in public management of water resources, its scope and its applications. Presented before, it can be verified that for participatory water management to be effective, must take into account public opinion that can be displayed by the presence of representatives of organized civil society in the appropriate forums, and Environmental education should be widely employed awareness in the community targeted and specific way for each target audience (students of different levels and the general community) expanding the capacity of the population to participate in the public management of natural assets you are entitled. |
