Resumo: This monograph aims to present discussions resulting from a qualitative research that has as its theme the leadership styles in the generational context. The issue is relevant insofar as it addresses the major assets of a corporation: individuals who, in a committed manner, produce qualified results. In addition, the proposal intends to highlight in the historical context, the implications of factors that promote changes over time, such as technologies, information and new knowledge that quickly change the ways of working and managing. One of the guiding questions addressed in this topic is the insertion of the new generations in the labor market, which in turn, has a great expectation in reference to corporations, work groups and, above all, the leadership styles practiced, where there is a need skills, and attitudes of those responsible for team management. The fact is that the search for knowledge is necessary, since the contemporary generations do not only glimpse for attractive remunerations or expressive positions, because often it has in the figure of a manager a great reference and that through it will have the key to the success professional. In order to contribute to the relevant subject, it is sought here to investigate the expectations of contemporary professionals, especially generations Y and Z about the perceptions about styles and practices of leadership in the context of the Brazilian scientific production on the subject. As a synthesis, the study highlights the need to rethink the importance of the role of manager, which brings together the abilities of a great leader. We searched the works of several authors who investigated the subject from theses, articles, projects, among other sources. As summaries the existence of different styles of leadership between individuals of different generations was perceived, as well as, singular expectations regarding the ways of leading.
