This paper will address the relationship between bioethics and teaching, emphasizing the role of bioethics in the discipline of science. To understand this relationship will be exposed the concept and origin of bioethics, presenting the main events involved with this area, which exerted influence in its origin and consolidation. The work will also make a brief historical rescue on the teaching of sciences, evidencing the evolution of the expected objective to teach this discipline from its inception to the present day, which currently has the objective of training individuals capable of exercising their citizenship. The present work, besides this contextualization, will discuss the role of the teacher in the application of bioethics within the classroom, and how this theme can interfere in the formation of the human being as a social individual, showing that this subject must be approached in an interdisciplinary way so that there is a better understanding by the student. In science education, there is a vast area to deal with subjects that require a treatment based on bioethical principles, the so-called controversial themes. Thus, we will discuss the role of the teacher in creating spaces so that these themes are work in a way that contributes to that students form their own opinions by taking an ethical stance. In this way, the work will investigate the perceptions that the academics of the Interdisciplinary Degree in Natural Sciences have on bioethics and its implications in the educational context, because for the future teachers to be able to develop the bioethical abilities in their students it is necessary that they are stimulated and understand bioethics since graduation. |
