Resumo: Lack of time. Common reason for not adopting TDICs in basic education and starting point for this text. It seems there is no room for the discussion of the importance of TDICs (Digital Information and Communication Technologies – ICTs) in classroom context. However, the time factor, here understood as the one spent by the educator in the application of these tools in the classroom, is seen by teachers as an obstacle, if not an impeditive for the success of this work. Starting with such question, common in all levels of education, this text aims to understand, through theoretical research and bibliographic review, how time, although described by many theocraticals as a positive gain when inserting technological tools in the school routine, becomes a villain when negatively interferes in the life quality of teachers demotivating them towards innovation, or even interfering with their work. Therefore, the theoretical understandings of working time of ANTUNES (2013), and SILVA (2017) and the ones related to time and technologies of KENSKI (2013) served as support to point to the direction in teachers qualification, along with the necessity of pedagogical planning and clear goals, through school management and public policies in the triad work/work hours/education, as a possible path só that every online minute is worthwhile for the students and for the life quality, valorization and professional qualification of the educator.
