Resumo: Education plays a fundamental role in many changes that occur in our country, being closely related to political history, because, in this particular case, whenever a coup is established, we then have an educational change / reform. understand how this actually happens. Therefore, the research was carried out based on bibliographical and documentary data on the Civil-Military coup of 1964, which succeeded Reforms in Education, specifically the Reform of 1° and 2° degrees Law n.5,692 / 71. In this sense, our hypothesis seeks to show that the Civil-Military Coup, while making use of educational policy as a strategy of hegemony, failed to fulfill one of the main functions traditionally attributed to the capitalist state, which consists precisely in ensuring the schooling of the potential active labor force. In a second moment we will analyze the Consolidated Legislative Juridical Coup on August 31, 2016, more specifically the High School Reform, Law no. 13.415 / 2017, which changed the LDBEN / 1996 consequently the model that had been adopted in High School, moving to a more technical model aimed at the High School as a terminal teaching process so that the student does not seek to enter the Higher Education . In this sense we find similarities in both Educational Reforms, professionalization of teaching, termination for labor market purposes, technical education, formative itineraries in which there will be an emptying of content, similarly occurred in 1971 with the 2nd Degree Reform. Considering this, it is possible to understand these reforms and to make some approximations of the impacts of these policies for public education.
