The problems encountered during and after execution of the implementation of the execution or reconstruction of asphalt paving do not receive the necessary attention to guarantee comfort to the users of roads and highways. Therefore, companies responsible for the maintenance and preservation of pavements should be aware of the appearance of environmental liabilities, such as erosion. Erosion is defined as the process of disaggregating and transporting land by the action of erosive agents such as water and wind. The erosion-causing problems can be identified by studying the results of soil characterization tests and analyzing the pluviometric indexes of the regions near the erosion detection points. This paper is based on the development of studies using scientific data obtained through soil characterization tests to identify the possible causes of erosion caused in 2016 in some points of Highway BR 487, which links the cities of Campo Mourão and TuneirasD'Oeste. In addition, it presents the methodology adopted by the company responsible for the maintenance of the Highway to solve the erosion problems encountered. The soil characterization tests present in this paper (Granulometric Analysis and Specific Density) were performed in the soil mechanics laboratory of the UTFPR of Campo Mourão and their results allowed to identify soils with low percentage of clay and high specific gravity. The rainfall indexes provided by Institute of the waters of Paraná showed a higher incidence of precipitation in October in the regions of the erosion sites, and the solutions implemented by the company responsible (earth-moving, drainage, environmental recovery and geotextile blanket implantation) were subtle to solve erosion problems in the erosion points of BR 487 (PR). |
