Resumo: Mass production cars and sold on the national market have limitations on their efficiency because they have restrictions on the intake and exhaust system of the engine. The biggest drawback in the power gain of an naturally aspirated engine is the restriction of the allowed airflow generated by the original system. This work proposes to analyze the system of admission of a vehicle to internal combustion, analyzing changes in air capture and evaluating the behavior of temperature and airflow, and also the power of the engine studied. Tests were performed in three different conditions: original air filter, sport air filter and sports air filter with baffle to isolate the hot air from the engine compartment. The study was performed on a dynamometer located at the Pro Auto Center Automotive workshop in Pato Branco - Paraná. According to the results, an increase in power was observed. The sports filter and cold air was the one that has the highest gain, obtaining approximately 5 cv of more power than the original filter. The sports filter and hot air also improved, with a gain of 2.3 cv. There was also an increase in the air flow and a decrease in the allowed air temperature with the sport air filter, allied to the hot air deflector. It was concluded that the results were satisfactory, adding theoretical knowledge in the academic environment and also providing professional and personal fulfilment.
