Resumo: This study had as a theme the time management and productivity in accounting services companies. Its general objective was to identify which methods of time management are currently used in the accounting firms in the southwestern region of Paraná and also to propose solutions that could contribute to mitigate problems related to time management and productivity improvement. It started with a bibliographic research on Google Scholar, using the key words; time management, productivity and accounting services which ended up resulting only 05 articles. From the literature it was possible to organize a survey to collect data from regional accounting firms. The data collected was then tabulated and the answers were quantitatively analyzed. The results show that 58% of those who answered it use an appointment book as a tool to register tasks and appointments, and 27% use post-it notes and reminders. The prioritization of daily tasks are done by those that represent greater urgency, followed by important tasks and lastly the circumstantial tasks. Of those interviewed, 46% always take preventive measures to prevent emergencies. The most frequent deficiencies in time management are interruptions, multiple tasks, excessive information, and lack of task planning. After identifying the main problems related to time management, it is suggested new methods of procedure regarding to work planning, seeking to predict recurrent activities; the use of task and appointment management tools such as an electronic organizer or a paid software; and especially the engagement of the whole company to establish a proactive stance.
