Resumo: It’s normal to identify the formation of big tolls lines located on the roads that have a high vehicles flow. Queue formation occurs when the service offered isn’t able to meet demand. This problem becomes even more serious when there are holiday periods in the country, increasing the traffic and consequently the queues size. The problem is so evident that the Paraná has approved law n. 19.687, which requires the suspension of toll collection and the release the vehicle when has service delay. In other countries, other alternatives can be found in relation to the toll plazas system, payment methods and the annual rate for highway use. The objective of this study is to analyze the configuration of the Beta Toll cabin payment located in Paraná for reducing queuing and optimizing travel time for the driver through the study of queuing theory. Through the applied methodology it was possible to increase the service level and reduce the toll lines to almost zero level.
