Resumo: Controlling and improving the quality of products and services has become a fruitful business strategy. It is known that in a present time - marked by globalization, the speed of information, competitiveness and the laws of supply and demand - quality occupies a privileged place in consumer decision making regarding competing products and services. With this, quality management has been modernizing and adapting, over the last years, to human needs and the social context. Currently, we discuss the emergence of Industry 4.0, or 4th Industrial Revolution, which in theory is a concept commonly adopted to name the development process in chain management and production through interconnected technological resources in communication networks. This is a new way products are being manufactured. The question is: what are the reasons for industry 4.0? To what extent does industry 4.0 have immediate effects on the production and service delivery processes? What is the impact of industry 4.0 on quality management? How do these two concepts, industry 4.0 and quality management, relate in contemporary times? In view of the above, this research aims to foster debate on the aspects that underlie and guide quality management in industry 4.0. The methodology adopted was the qualitative approach, committed to the deductive method, and taking as a procedure the bibliographic research. The main findings reveal that with globalization and Internet network connections, it has been influencing all sectors of society, especially the industries and their modes of production, inserting technological resources, computerized automation processes, facilitating communication and improving the final quality of the products. products and services provided.
