The study consists of a work sampling application in the MDF (medium density fiberboard) and HDF (high density fiberboard) raw cuts sector in a furniture factory. The study was applied in a company in Londrina, in the state of Paraná, with quantitative analysis of the collected data. A study of time utilization was carried out and the sector's normal time was calculated from the information obtained in order to demonstrate with a 95% confidence level the proportion of each function performed by the operator and how it can affect productivity. It was found that the sector analyzed used a large part of its productive time with activities that do not add value to the final product. Hypotheses for improvements were proposed and the potential for increased productivity that can be achieved in the sector was demonstrated. |
