The following work presents how we can correlate automotive customer complaints in acoustics, noise and vibration with the objective acoustic levels observed during the development phase of the vehicle design, utilizing mockup data. The objective is to verify how a company in the Brazilian automotive business can act to solve automotive acoustic problems identified by the clients, benchmarking the competition and identifying the main possible improvement points. The central focus of this monograph is to check for a generic automotive market of three vehicles from the same segment Maverick, Gurgel and Opala, which are the main acoustic levels of engine noise, running noise and aerodynamic noise, which generate the smallest customer complaints. The names used for analysis purposes Maverick, Gurgel and Opal are fictitious names of beautiful old vehicles in Brazil, however the data are based on actual extractions. There are two main sources of data for this monograph, the first one is to use a database of objective acoustic measurements of automotive vehicles. The second source of information is the use of a customer feedback system, where the metrics to be used for comparison of vehicles is the number of customer complaints. According to what was observed in the work, the lowest levels of complaints are linked to the balance of noise sources of the vehicle, the vehicle with the lowest levels of complaints was the Maverick, and is one that presents a good balance of noises (engine, road and aerodynamic), in another words, it does not present the best or the worst levels in any of the noises observed. Therefore, the client will not notice anything out of the ordinary, that is, there is no attenuated noise source and no excessive noise source. |
