The Research and Development sector of large companies need to have more security in the selection and priorization of projects. In this way, the economic feasibility of implementing new technologies in the market is guaranteed and the company’s financial health is assured. Therefore, a Return on Investment (ROI) measurement methodology linked to the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) system and Economic Management of Projects is proposed in projects with innovative content. With the use of the methodology in a case study focused on the R&D area of a forestbased company (entitled Beta S/A), and through the adoption of scenarios and assumptions about the development, there was a finding about the viability of implementing a new salable product for the company. A necessidade da mensuração do retorno sobre investimento em projetos de inovação é cada vez maior. Os setores de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento de grandes companhias precisam ter maior segurança na seleção e priorização de projetos. Dessa forma, a viabilidade econômica para implantação de novas tecnologias no mercado é garantida e a saúde financeira da empresa é assegurada. Portanto, uma metodologia de mensuração do Retorno sobre Investimento (ROI) atrelado ao sistema de Nível de Maturidade Tecnológica (TRL) e à Gestão Econômica de Projetos é proposta em projetos com teor inovador.
