This work had as its theme the objective of analyzing the importance of literature for the social, cognitive and affective development of children. It also seeks to show how the early childhood teacher should use the resource of literature in his classes, as it is the path that leads the child to develop imagination, emotions and feelings in a pleasant and meaningful way. The work starts with a brief history of children's literature, presenting concepts of language and reading, focuses on the importance of hearing stories and the child's contact with books from an early age and the importance of the school library to encourage the child to discover the magical world of fantasy listening to stories for the teaching learning process in early childhood education, stories represent effective indicators for challenging situations, as well as strengthening social, educational and affective bonds, and assisting in the planning of the teacher's pedagogical activities as a tool for child development, awakening small readers to the world of imagination with a suitable environment for the moment of storytelling and structure that provides the child with knowledge and contact with books, and seeks to show some techniques to develop the habit of reading in a playful manner in the school environment Stresses the importance of family participation together with the school in the formation of child development and the construction of critical sense, respecting the phases of child development. |
