Resumo: This dissertation deals with training activities, in formal and non-formal education settings, based on the Instructional Materials for Environmental Education entitled “Guide for Multipliers of Project Citizen (GPEC)”, being finalized by Municipal Environmental Secretary of Curitiba-Pr. The GPEC is a pedagogical resource designed for the training of scavengers, members of the Ecocitizen Project. This project was initiated in 2007 aiming to improve scavenger working conditions, strengthening their organization and valuing the recyclables collected. The conduct of this research, grounded in action-research, dealt with a target audience and a potencial audience. The general aim of this research was to verify the potencial use of an instructional material for Environmental Education (EA) in training activities that could enable the creation of meanings and nurtured the growth of expertise and knowledge in different learning environments. The phase of data collection occurred during two visits and four workshops held between May and October 2009. Then there were made micro-analysis of the material produced from methodological strategies to verify different aspects of each theme of the Guide. Through teaching practices, the construction of meanings that allowed the approximation of the contents of Instructional material with the experience, knowledge and expertise of workshop participants’ proposals occurred. The final results can turn into texts to be added to the Guide, since they complement the conditions for preservation of Enviromental Education, conservation and nature-society interaction developed in the version used for research.
