The GPEC is a pedagogical resource designed for the training of scavengers, members of the Ecocitizen Project. This project was initiated in 2007 aiming to improve scavenger working conditions, strengthening their organization and valuing the recyclables collected. The conduct of this research, grounded in action-research, dealt with a target audience and a potencial audience. The general aim of this research was to verify the potencial use of an instructional material for Environmental Education (EA) in training activities that could enable the creation of meanings and nurtured the growth of expertise and knowledge in different learning environments. The phase of data collection occurred during two visits and four workshops held between May and October 2009. Then there were made micro-analysis of the material produced from methodological strategies to verify different aspects of each theme of the Guide. Through teaching practices, the construction of meanings that allowed the approximation of the contents of Instructional material with the experience, knowledge and expertise of workshop participants’ proposals occurred. The final results can turn into texts to be added to the Guide, since they complement the conditions for preservation of Enviromental Education, conservation and nature-society interaction developed in the version used for research. Esta dissertação trata de atividades de formação, formal e não formal, fundamentadas no Material Instrucional de Educação Ambiental intitulado “Guia para multiplicadores de catadores de materiais recicláveis de Curitiba do Projeto Ecocidadão (GPEC)”, em fase de finalização pela Secretaria Municipal do Meio Ambiente de Curitiba – PR. O GPEC é um recurso didático-pedagógico concebido para a formação de multiplicadores integrantes do Projeto Ecocidadão. Este projeto foi iniciado em 2007 com o objetivo de melhorar as condições de trabalho dos catadores, fortalecendo sua organização e valorizando os materiais recicláveis coletados. Os procedimentos de condução da pesquisa estão embasados na Pesquisa-ação realizada com o público destinatário e público potencial. O objetivo geral do estudo foi analisar as potencialidades de uso de um Material Instrucional de Educação Ambiental (EA), em atividades de formação que oportunizassem a produção de significados, saberes e conhecimentos, em diferentes ambientes educativos. A fase de coleta de dados aconteceu durante duas visitas técnicas e quatro oficinas didáticas realizadas entre maio e outubro de 2009. Em seguida foram feitas micro-análises do material produzido a partir de estratégias metodológicas que verificassem os diferentes aspectos de cada tema do Guia. Por meio de práticas pedagógicas ocorreu a construção de significados que permitiu a identificação dos conteúdos do material com as vivências, saberes e conhecimentos dos participantes das oficinas.
