The present work deals with the concept of Industry 4.0, considering its fundamental characteristics and its essential foundations. Through the Systematic Bibliographic Review tool, references were taken to delimit the concept of industry 4.0. Inherent in the nature of the concept, tools have been defined for industry 4.0, which establish its necessary foundations: Intelligent systems, human-machine interface, the cyber-physical systems and big data. A indústria passou por diversas transformações ao longo da história e estamos prestes a encarar uma nova revolução industrial. O presente trabalho trata do conceito da Indústria 4.0, considerando suas principais características e seus alicerces básicos. Através da ferramenta de Revisão Bibliográfica Sistemática foram colhidas referências do trabalho afim de delimitar o conceito de indústria 4.0.
