Resumo: Industry 4.0 is advancing and making companies that adopt it much more competitive. The application of technological innovations in the area of supply chain management has been studied in recent years as a business development strategy, increasing productivity, profitability and insertion in the market. The dairy industry in Brazil has as a great challenge the good management of its supply chain, which directly influences the cost and quality requirements of the raw material and the final product. This research discusses the assessment of the potential use of technologies from industry 4.0 in the dairy Supply Chain. It presents the industry 4.0 technologies applicable to supply chains, the cost and quality requirements for dairy supplies and exposes the opportunities and challenges of using these technologies in the dairy industry supply chain. Through a case study in the cheese-producing dairy supply chain, alternatives for applying industry 4.0 technologies were evaluated in order to reduce costs and preserve quality. Through literary analysis of bibliographies, unstructured interviews and on-site visits accompanied by professionals in the field, a faithful description of the logistical functioning of the supply chain of the company Laticínios Horizonte, an analysis of the cost and quality requirements of the company and finally the verification of the technologies that can be applied, highlighting the internet of things, cloud computing, big data, cyber-physical systems and traceability.
