Resumo: Currently, many surveys show that the number of patients with cancer is growing daily. This disease has a dynamic that evolves and adapts to environmental conditions and treatment methods. Thus, aggressive treatments can be used in order to kill all cancer cells, but it can also cause the resistance of the cells which causes the regression of the disease. Moreover, elderly patients can have their quality of life decreased and also they are more vulnerable to the regression of the disease. For these reasons, we describe the dynamics of tumor growth with exchanges of aggressive and less aggressive treatments as a switching system and then we explore the stability and stabilization results of this class of systems to obtain a switching law depending on the state capable of controlling cancer, which defines when the treatment must be changed. The strategy's effectiveness was proven with numerical simulations performed in the software MATLAB.
