In this work, the importance of the mascot for the engagement of a brand with its audience is argued. Therefore, the community in which the Curitiba fight games championship “Treta Championship” is inserted, serves as our object of study. Since, this type of game is known for the wide range of characters. In such a way that a parallel can be established with mascots, which at the same time represent brands, they are also characters. In addition to researching the history of these games, we seek to understand more about how Brazilian characters are represented in this medium, since many of the games are located in worlds based on the one we live. So, for the creation of the mascot, it was decided to study character archetypes and fundamentals of the character design process, widely used in games and animation industry. Combining the process with the graphic design thinking methodology, we established clear steps for the development of the mascot, such as, for example, a survey with the fighting game community. Therefore, finishing the research with the mascot itself and examples of applications that can be made. |
