This investigation aims to investigate the way in which education is inserted in penitentiaries, to understand its role in the coexistence of individuals deprived of liberty, inside prisons and in their reintegration into society. To reach the proposed objective, the qualitative research presents an analysis of scientific works already carried out and official documents about the São Paulo penitentiaries. We opted for a methodology focused on document analysis of scientific studies and official documents, in order to better understand and carry out an analysis of the documents. The databases considered were the theses and dissertations database with 12 results and Academic Google with 12 results. An analysis was carried out based on the abstracts and final considerations, considering factors such as the location of São Paulo and young people aged 18 to 29. The results obtained with the investigation, education as a way for a better coexistence of the individual inside the prisons and a hope of a better life outside the bars. Despite all the precarious structure that prisons offer, education is a right and resocialization should be the focus of prisons. |
