Resumo: |
The discovery of the ruins of the city of Ugarit just under a century ago has permitted us to rediscover the culture of the ancient people of Canaan, until then known only through the Bible – which the narrative sought to degrade and vilify this people -, and notice it’s influence surviving until today. The following project aims to register the development process of a comic adaptation of the over 3000 years old tale discovered in these ruins of the epic hero Aqhat, considered one of the most important texts of ugaritic literature, aiming to be an attractive way to generate knowledge to an extensive public about the new insights that the recent discoveries allowed us to have of Canaan. Here informations will be presented for the contextualization of what has been discovered about this land and its people, also presenting and analysing the Tale of Aqhat, together with informations of other ugaritic religious texts that will allow us to have a better comprehension of the text; methodologies for the creation of comics and peculiarities of manga style diagramation; and at last the development of the comic itself, recording and justifying the making of the different decisions. At the end, all of the comic’s full finished pages are shown. |
