Resumo: Meat is one of the main sources of protein, minerals and vitamins in human food. In recent decades the socioeconomic conditions of the general population have shown improvements, which has allowed a greater consumption of meat, not only which, has allowed consumers to become more demanding regarding the choice of it. According to cultural, economic and social characteristics, the consumer profile has been changing. Thus, it is important to try to understand what your preferences are and why, so that improvements occur in the distribution market and also in relation to the marketing used to reach the consumer and their classes. The objective of this work is to identify the profile of the beef and chicken consumer market in Dois Vizinhos municipality. The data collection was performed through a questionnaire survey with closed questions, and being interviewed 396 individuals, of different age, gender and income, there was no significant variance regarding the consumption preference as well as the meat purchase question. The profile found outside individuals of both genders residing with two or more people, consume meat every day of the week, being two to three times a week chicken and beef.
