Resumo: The companies' initiative to manage their people began to increase due to the shortage of skilled labor faced in recent decades. Good people management provides the company with a competitive advantage in the market as it manages to reduce its high turnover of people while maintaining its quality standards. The turnover of people in organizations shows a relationship between admissions and dismissals and, in turn, indicates the health of the company regarding its human capital. In cases of high turnover, companies lose out in the financial aspect, in knowledge management, even in the quality of the final product. In this sense, the general objective of this research was to identify the main factors of turnover of contractors in a construction company located in the city of Londrina, pointing out suggestions for improvements. For this purpose, the survey method was used to collect sample data from the employees of the company under analysis and, later, to analyze the main problems and reasons for the high turnover of people in civil construction. The survey highlighted as main factors of high turnover in the company, being: 53% affirmation regarding the salary paid to employees who work in the civil construction industry, 58% reported lack of opportunity for growth and 40% affirmed having an authoritarian approach to their employees direct superiors.
