Resumo: The objective of this work is to verify in the Mathematics textbooks, used in the sixth year of Elementary School – from schools in Paraná, if they approach the perspective of Critical Mathematics Education in the percentage contents. There was discussion of the Critical Mathematics Education approach, within the contents of Financial Mathematics, starting with the exercises proposed by the books studied. Three textbooks of the sixth year of Elementary School were analyzed, from schools in Paraná in the public education network, these being the most used by schools within the valid proposal by the PNLD from the years 2018 to 2020 of different years and editorial seals. The methodological course is guided by the perspective of qualitative and exploratory research, presenting the detailed stages of the research and its structuring. The results obtained through exercises of the percentage content extracted from the source books are discussed, with analysis through investigative questions that govern Critical Mathematics Education. Possibilities are also presented through a personal survey of how it is possible to make students perceive the lack or presence of Critical Mathematics Education in their contents and consequently in their exercises.
