The present study aimed to evaluate the management of health service waste at the Basic Health Unit (UBS), in a municipality in western Paraná. The methods used to carry out the analysis of the current situation, of the management of the RSS, of the UBS were documentary research to the legislation, action research and field research. The action research was based on collective self-reflection, since the researcher is part of the study's UBS health team. The field research, on the other hand, took place through the use of a field diary where information regarding the management of RSS was recorded, from on-site inspections, photographic records and weighing of waste, thus extracting information directly from the reality of this object of study, carried out during the months of January and February 2022. After the analysis, the information was verified in light of the current regulations, ANVISA RDC Resolution No. 222/2018 and CONAMA Resolution No. 358/2005, thus verifying, nonconformities in the management of RSS. As a final product of this study, the Health Services Waste Management Plan (PGRSS) was prepared, as well as a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and a training calendar on the subject, for the professionals who make up the Health Strategy teams. of the municipality's family. Os Resíduos de Serviço de Saúde (RSS) são aqueles gerados em hospitais, clínicas médicas e veterinárias, laboratórios, farmácias, unidades básicas de saúde, entre outros, os quais são classificados em: Grupo A (resíduos biológicos ou infectantes), Grupo B (resíduos químicos), Grupo C (resíduos radiativos), Grupo D (resíduos comuns – recicláveis ou não) e Grupo E (resíduos perfurocortantes). O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o manejo dos resíduos de serviço de saúde da Unidade Básica de Saúde (UBS), em município do oeste do Paraná. Os métodos utilizados para realizar a análise da atual situação, do manejo dos RSS, da UBS foram pesquisa documental à legislação, pesquisa ação e pesquisa de campo. A pesquisa ação baseou-se na autorreflexão coletiva, uma vez que a pesquisadora faz parte da equipe de saúde da UBS do estudo. Já a pesquisa de campo, se deu através do uso de diário de campo onde foram anotadas informações referentes ao gerenciamento dos RSS, a partir das vistorias in loco, de registros fotográficos e pesagem dos resíduos, extraindo, desta forma, informações diretamente da realidade desse objeto de estudo, realizadas durantes os meses de janeiro e fevereiro de 2022. Depois da análise, foi realizado a verificação das informações à luz das normas vigentes, Resolução ANVISA RDC nº 222/2018 e Resolução CONAMA nº 358/2005, verificando-se assim, inconformidades no manejo dos RSS.
