Nowadays, statistics - in a general perspective - is a tool of great importance for our society, it is essential to intellectual formation in regard to the analysis of information. However, the way in which the contents of this area are addressed not always privileges the analysis because even when they are taught with fictitious data, present in most textbooks, the interpretations do not support the context that originated the information. Therefore, this research intends to analyze the possibility of developing statistical skills in real research situations. Due to that, this study aims to identify the development of three competences: Literacy, Reasoning and Statistical Thinking. This Project was applied to the students of the vocational high school when the content is worked from a real project of data collection in the Environmental Technician course. For the construction and analysis of the data it was used the mixed method from a joint project with UNIPAR in which the data on afforestation were collected in the neighborhood of the School. The results we achieved reveal that using real situations, aspects of reasoning and thought are privileged and, working with data related to students’ daily lives facilitates developing and the evolution of literacy, together, in a broadest aspect. |
