Resumo: One of the main factors to the increasing of waste in recycling material is the great population growth due to the urbanization, as well as the changes habits of the population, as the excessive consumption of industrialized foods in the last decades. The information regarding to amounts and characteristics of these wastes are important to plan how to direct these elements of waste. In order to get this, it is necessary the whole monitoring of the receiving and separation of the material to a critical analysis of its destination, besides thinking in strategies to its reutilization in other purposes, with particular reference to the production of teaching material as the input to the environmental education (EA - Educação Ambiental). The environmental education presuppose educational practices interdicisplinary, consequently the possibility of allying playful activities with the reuse of recycling material in order to an educational process guided in the premise of sustainability. The objective of this work evaluates the solid wastes disposed by the population of Santa Helena Town – Parana (SH/PR) and its potential to making didactic-pedagogical material by Workshop workers at the Center of Integral Coexistence of kids and Teenagers (CCICA – Centro de Convivencia Integral da Criança e Adolescente), aiming the environmental education crucial. The methodology proposed is the quantitative and qualitative.Quantitative which concerns to survey of quantities of disposed material (weight) by population, and qualitative through participatory research. To data collection it was used: visit with participant observation, interviews, questionaries, spreadsheets to count the material and workshops. It is asked itself: What are the possibilities of reutilization of solid wastes disposed by the population of Santa Helena Town to making didactic-pedagogic material by workshop workers of CCICA? The results showed that the recyclable solid wastes (RSR – Resíduos Sólidos Recicláveis) have a positive potential in relation to making games and didactic materials to be used in the workshops of the social service involved. In relation to the RSR collected in Santa Helena Town – Parana, it is noted that the quantity disposed by the population correspond to 2,795(kg)/day, 11,305(kg)week, and 43,336(kg) in April 2022. There is a necessity to lead back campaigns of teams awareness since that there is a great occurrence of mixture of the RSR with organic material, showing a relative reversal to waste separation, complicating the job of the recycling material Collectors, whom depend on these materials to their support and survival. In relation to the reutilization of the RSR, we saw that we can promote improvements in the teaching process, through activities of environmental sensibilization that were implemented with the workshops of CCICA, as we reused the RSR, via thematic elaborated, always oriented to the decrease in the acquisition of materials available in the commerce to the development of educational activities and guidance in the conscious disposal, in order to such elements could receive a distinctive destination, in a more environmentally friendly way, thereby providing opportunities that can be involved in the educational activities, which the numbers of reutilization should be even greater, if the disposal held by the population occurred in a more aware and coherent way.
