Resumo: |
Music is part of the daily lives of most human beings and, with the advancement of technology, it became increasingly easy to access it. The present study has as its main objective to analyze how music was used in the classroom for the development of listening comprehension in the early 21st century and, as it is being worked on recently. For this work, two studies were used, one from the year 2001 and the other from 2020, so that we could analyze differences and similarities between the activities with music. Furthermore, we discuss music as motivation, as a strategy and as a tool, as well as the use of music in the classroom as a tool to develop students' listening comprehension. For the bibliographical review, we used authors who study music in English classes, like Griffee (1990), Murphey (1992), Bonato (2014) and Negreiros (2018). At the end of this study, we conclude that technological advances and the internet impact the way we can produce our listening comprehension activities nowadays, giving us a greater possibility to use digital platforms, not restricting us to just using traditional activities. |
