In the municipalities that have citros as their main crop, the HDI is among the best in the country, showing that this activity can contribute to the development of the national economy. Over the years, there has been na increase in investment in technologies used in soil preparation, planting, cultural treatments and harvesting, as well as in studies to diagnose the productive chain at the agronomic, economic and sociocultural level. Thus, a study aimed to characterize the citros production chain in Brazil, in the South of Brazil, in Paraná, in the Southwest of Paraná, and in the three largest municipalities in the Southwest of Paraná (Dois Vizinhos, Francisco Beltrão and Nova Prata do Iguaçu), regarding production, export and import, as well as the profile of local citros producers. Secondary data were collected on FAOSTAT, COMEXSTAT and IBGE / SIDRA online platforms. Entities linked to the activity were also interviewed. It is concluded that in the southwest of Paraná the production is incipient and there is a lack of commercialization structures capable of encouraging the production and that more studies are necessary for the effective understanding of this chain in the Southwest of Paraná in the links that are linked to the government policies of credit and technical assistance and mainly in aspects related to the commercialization and local distribution of citros and its structures. A citricultura brasileira apresenta grande importância para a economia do país, pois apresenta ampla área com pomares e altas produtividades, fazendo do país o maior produtor de Laranja e um dos maiores exportadores de suco de laranja, limão e tangerina, assim como produz grande parte do Limão e Tangerina comercializados nas gôndolas brasileiras. Nos municípios que tem a citricultura como principal cultura, o IDH está entre os melhores do país, mostrando que esta atividade pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento da economia nacional. Ao longo dos anos tem aumentado o investimento em tecnologias empregadas no preparo do solo, no plantio, nos tratos culturais e na colheita, assim como em estudos para diagnosticar a cadeia produtiva a nível agronômico, econômico e sociocultural. Desta forma, estudo teve por objetivo caracterizar a cadeia produtiva dos citros no Brasil, no Sul do Brasil, no Paraná, no Sudoeste Paranaense, e nos três municípios maiores produtores do Sudoeste Paranaense (Dois Vizinhos, Francisco Beltrão e Nova Prata do Iguaçu), quanto a produção, exportação e importação, bem como o perfil dos produtores locais de citros. Foram coletados dados secundários em plataformas online da FAOSTAT, COMEXSTAT e IBGE/SIDRA. Também foram entrevistadas entidades ligadas à atividade.
