Resumo: The work presents some characteristics of the wheat supply chain in Brazil, aiming to describe the evolution of production, consumption, and related policies up to the present day. It analyzes the possibility of job and income generation within the studied wheat supply chain, which is composed of the primary sector, involving grain production and a large number of input, machinery, equipment, and service industries. Additionally, it includes the secondary productive sector, mainly consisting of milling and processing industries related to products such as flour, biscuits, and bread, ultimately reaching the end consumer. The study observed the rise in national wheat production, driven by increased cultivation areas, particularly in the Brazilian cerrado and the semi-arid Northeast, where disease-resistant and drought-tolerant cultivars were planted. This, in turn, led to a growth in job creation within agribusiness, influencing the performance of wheat farming in the Brazilian economic landscape.
