In order to understand the relationship between Web 2.0 and bioinformatics, a systematic literature review was performed based on a research corpus obtained from a Google Scholar search of papers that address the theme. The study had a positivist, descriptive and quantitative epistemological view. The research consisted of the analysis of twenty-two papers that met the inclusion/exclusion criteria to be considered, which were classified based on the main theme and the secondary (or accessory) theme, according to the concern and focus given by the authors to the papers. As a result, six categories of interest were obtained, namely data integration, collaborative research, web service, data catalog, web discipline and semantic web. The majority of the studies showed interest (main or secondary) in data integration, collaborative research or web services, which represent 82% of the addressed themes, and highlight the main contributions that Web 2.0 has brought to bioinformatics research. This result shows that researchers pay close attention to the use of collective intelligence in studies of the field, worrying about the integration of large, accessible and good quality databases, stimulating collaborative research and the engagement of researchers. The development of web services through tools that facilitate and reinforce collective intelligence in the field of bioinformatics also deserved attention. The research reveals that the technological resources that facilitate the emergence of collective intelligence have provided significant gains for biology studies, consolidating Web 2.0 and its possible developments in a semantic web, as indispensable resources for the development of collaborative research in the field. A presente pesquisa buscou mapear os trabalhos científicos que tratam do uso de tecnologias da informação, com ênfase para a Internet, para fomentar a inteligência coletiva e obter resultados de pesquisas em biotecnologia que não seriam possíveis sem os esforços coordenados de contingentes de pesquisadores. Na busca do entendimento da relação entre Web 2.0 e bioinformática foi realizada uma revisão sistemática da literatura a partir de uma busca no GoogleScholar dos trabalhos que abordam a temática. O estudo teve uma visão epistemológica positivista, descritiva e de caráter quantitativo. A pesquisa consistiu na análise de 22 trabalhos que atenderam os critérios de inclusão no corpus da pesquisa, os quais foram classificados com base na temática principal e na temática secundária (ou acessória), conforme a preocupação e o foco dado pelos autores aos trabalhos. Como resultado, foram obtidas 6 categorias de interesse, sendo elas integração de dados, pesquisa colaborativa, serviço web, catálogo de dados, disciplina web, e web semântica. A grande maioria dos trabalhos demonstrou interesse, principal ou secundário, por integração de dados, pesquisa colaborativa ou serviços web, que representaram 82% das temáticas tratadas e evidenciam as principais contribuições que a Web 2.0 trouxe para a pesquisa em biotecnologia. Tal resultado mostra que os pesquisadores veem com grande atenção a utilização da inteligência coletiva em estudos da área, preocupando-se com a integração de grandes bases de dados, acessíveis e com boa qualidade, estimulando a pesquisa colaborativa e o engajamento dos pesquisadores. O desenvolvimento de serviços web por meio de ferramentas que facilitem e reforcem a inteligência coletiva no campo da bioinformática também mereceu atenção.
